Summary:

The Electrical Department Manager will supervise the support operations electrical department, ensuring implementation and compliance with the company safety program. This person will be responsible for team member development, including periodic connections and goal setting, necessary corrective actions, ideas and incentives for improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with operations management to coordinate the electrical repairs and installation of new and replacement equipment. Manage projects accordingly to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Possess the ability to create new custom programming as necessary to meet operations requirements. Troubleshoot and test existing programming with PLC logic and operator interface. Provide training to the electrical group to improve programming capabilities.
  • Maintain and provide direction for CAD-based drawings for all electrical construction, from distribution level voltage one-line diagrams down to individual motor control diagrams and PLC control panel schematics. Maintain a current drawing set for all facilities.
  • Manage facility power and control, adhering to NEC rules and regulations. Direct the construction of power and controls to meet company, NEC, and MSHA standards.
  • Manage overall design of the company’s operations technology and networking scheme. Maintain networking documentation for growth and troubleshooting. Coordinate operations networking with corporate IT to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot facility electrical devices and technology across the company. Establish and maintain relationships with manufacturer’s support teams as resources for additional engineering and troubleshooting capacity.
  • Provide or coordinate all corporate electrical training, both safety and skill based.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and willing to travel throughout central and Northern Ohio. Overnight stays are minimal.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years’ experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience supervising projects and teams in a heavy industrial environment.
  • A working knowledge of PLC and HMI-based control systems and experience in the specification, commissioning, and troubleshooting of VFDs, MCCs, and operational networking or similar is required.
  • Experience with Rockwell automation, motor control hardware, and software is preferred.
  • Experience in the aggregates, construction materials, or related industry is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s or associate degree in a relevant field is preferred, but applicable experience is acceptable.
